Unforgettable love

Chapter 32

Chapter 32:.

“Shut up!” As soon as Sheryl started to speak, she was immediately interrupted by Helen. “We’re all employees of this company, so we should try to get along. She just accidentally spilled some water on you, but you wanted to escalate the situation. Do you think what you’re doing is the right thing to do?”

Sheryl opened her mouth but nothing came out of it. She was too afraid of being exposed, but she didn’t dare oppose Helen at the same time since she had prestige in this company. Perhaps by remaining silent, she could save herself.

Dolores silently watched the exchange between Sheryl and Helen.

She suddenly felt very cold. Not literally, but her heart felt as cold as if she had been locked in an icy abyss.

Little did she know that marrying Matthew would attract so many hateful women who wanted to attack her.

It was originally a simple deal on both sides, but it had brought her too much trouble.

She didn’t understand why others wouldn’t let her get on with her life in peace, even though they knew her marriage to Matthew was just a business deal.

Sheryl was looking harshly at Dolores at the moment.

She could only pretend not to notice her presence.

Sheryl probably didn’t know that she had been made the scapegoat for this little fiasco.

After a while, Abbott stopped in front of them and informed Sheryl, “You’re fired as of now.”

Sheryl was visibly stunned, “I didn’t do it on purpose.”

“You should know damn well what you’ve done.” Abbott turned and swept his gaze around the onlookers. The employees gathered around him craned their necks in anticipation of what Abbott was going to say.

“If you want to know what’s going on, go to the security room and watch the surveillance video. This is our company, not the supermarket. We don’t need an uncooperative employee. I hope everyone keeps this in mind.” After making his announcement, Abbott tried to disperse the crowd: “Return to your respective stations.”

Everyone solemnly returned to their seats, including Dolores. Matthew came out of his office and headed for the meeting room. Upon seeing him, Sheryl immediately ran to him.

“Mr. Nelson, I really didn’t do it on purpose.”

Matthew didn’t want to entertain her at all as he circled around her and continued on his way to the meeting room.

Sheryl wanted to try again but was stopped by Abbott, “You know very well what you have done and you know very well Mr. Nelson’s temperament.”

“But…” Sheryl wanted to explain again but couldn’t form any coherent words.

Abbott gave her a warning look before heading into the meeting room himself.

Sheryl really didn’t want to lose this job. She tried to plead in front of Helen in the hope that she would put in a good word for her, since she had a special relationship with Matthew. There still had to be some hope left.

She waited patiently in front of the meeting room.

When the hour-long meeting was over, the door burst open and Matthew immediately appeared. Abbott and Helen followed close behind.

Seeing her, he couldn’t help but frown.

Sheryl instantly grabbed Helen’s arm and began to plead, “Miss White, you have to help me put in a good word for me. I’ve been trying to make things difficult for Dolores because of you…”

“What on earth are you talking about?” replied Helen fiercely as she pushed her away.

“She told me she doesn’t like you.” Sheryl could not have predicted this drastic change in Helen’s attitude.

“I don’t like him, that’s true, but have I done something to make his life difficult?” asked Helen.

The fact that she didn’t like Dolores was something Matthew was very clear about.

Sheryl could not deny what she was saying.

Indeed, Helen said nothing of the sort, but her words were obviously implying that Sheryl did something to Dolores. “But…”

“You have to pay the price for your actions.” Helen called to the security guards, “Take her away!”

“Miss White, I beg you to help me now. I can’t lose this job now!”

Helen did not relent despite her pleas. Sheryl was speaking carelessly at that moment, which could make Matthew find out everything.

That would destroy her image in Matthew’s mind.

Save her?

She didn’t care about that.

Seeing all trace of hope diminishing, Sheryl finally flew into a rage and yelled at Helen, “Helen, you’re ungrateful. You are a hypocrite who has caused me to lose my job. You will suffer the…”

“Take her away now! Don’t let her disturb the atmosphere in the office.” Abbott responded in response to her tantrum and the security guards responded by speeding up their movements. Soon, her screams slowly disappeared into the corridors of that floor.

Matthew was tired of this turn of events. He quickened his pace as he moved forward.

Helen followed closely behind him.

After entering the office, Helen immediately threw herself upon her by wrapping her arms around his slender waist, “Matthew, listen to me…”. Her face pressed against his broad back as she continued, “Yes, I don’t like Dolores, but that doesn’t mean I’m the one who ordered someone to make her life miserable…”

Matthew lowered his head and stared at her clasped hands. “I’ve told you I’ll make our relationship official soon, why are you so impatient?”

As he said that, he pulled Helen’s arms away, “Since I’ve done those intimate things with you, no matter what happens, I’ll take responsibility for you. Don’t make trouble for her again.”

Helen was reluctant to let go, but Matthew was too strong for her. In the end, she could only loosen her arms.

“Matthew, I really didn’t instigate that at all. Even if I really did do something wrong, I did it for your sake. Is it wrong to show my love for you? We’ve been together for a while, shouldn’t you know me well by now?” Helen looked at him with tears in her eyes, “Besides giving you my body, I can also die for you. That’s how much I love you. I really don’t want to lose you.”

Matthew’s face fluctuated, but he was not thinking about her passionate words of confession. It had all come to this because of that fateful night.

He reached up to pull his thumb away from her tears, “I didn’t even scold you, so why are you crying, are you trying to get me to feel sorry for you?”noveldrama

Tears welled up in her eyes as she replied in a broken voice, “I’m so afraid you’ll abandon me. Since I was young, I didn’t have a family to grow up with. I was always in the orphanage, and to leave that life behind, I have tried my best to study and work hard to have a decent life. Later, a stroke of luck happened to me when the heavens put you in my path. You are my only family, my only love. I can’t lose you…”

“That won’t happen. I will keep the promise I made to you.” He retrieved her hand and turned his back on her. “Get on with your work.”

Helen felt she could no longer understand him.

“Matthew…”

“Go away.” There was a hint of impatience in his voice. It was clear that he wanted to get away from this subject.

Helen had no choice but to leave his office.

Matthew’s behavior was becoming increasingly disconcerting. It was precisely that insecurity in him that had made her heart flutter again.

As he made his way to the bathroom, he made a phone call.

“Didn’t you promise me you would have finished her off? Why was she able to make it to the company in one piece?”

“I failed this time.” Annabelle was also quite frustrated.

Helen wanted to vent her anger at Annabelle, but at the thought that she still needed to make use of it, she could only bear that seething rage, “How did you fail?”

“My mother and I got careless. We only hired one man, AND she was still able to run away!”

Helen secretly wanted to despise her!

“So, you intend to let her go just like that?”

“My mother said she would be very cautious after that close encounter. It would be hard to repeat it again.” Besides, ever since that fiasco at the company, Randolph had been increasingly unfriendly to his mother.

From now on, they had to get their hands on Randolph first.

If the incident of eight years ago was repeated and they were abandoned like Jessica and her mother, it would be the end of them.

Helen was really anxious about this matter, but unfortunately, she couldn’t make the moves herself. She could only be patient, “Then you should hurry up.”

“Why do you seem more nervous than me?”

Helen was slightly stunned to hear that. She realized she was being overly anxious, so she immediately dismissed Annabelle’s suspicion, “No, I’m not. I’m just worried about you. How could a woman like Dolores be worthy of Matthew, don’t you agree with me?”

“Of course, I should be the one to marry Matthew. Dolores, that bitch, shouldn’t even have a chance in the first place.”

Helen plastered a cold smile on her face. If Dolores wasn’t worthy, did Annabelle naively think she would be?

If it weren’t for Helen still wanting to manipulate her, she would have hung up the phone immediately. She was disgusting to talk to.

“Don’t fail again next time.” After giving a warning, Helen hung up the phone.
