Chapter 67
Chapter 67:
Matthew was exhausted and his expression changed when he heard what Dolores said.
He plucked up his courage, leaned against the car and laughed, “Can’t I come see my wife?”
Dolores frowned, how could he be so cheeky, they were divorced!
Matthew was still in that lazy attitude, “I don’t care. Go tell your son about our relationship…”
“What do you want?” Dolores was annoyed, was he an idiot?
His smile disappeared and he suddenly said, “If you don’t want me to come into your house, then come see me.”
Dolores stood still in her position. She pondered for a while. Samuel was a very sensitive boy. After that incident, Samuel became very hostile towards him. If he entered the house, how would he tell the boy his identity?
Matthew could not see clearly and closed his eyes. He said in his raspy, hoarse voice, “My time is limited as is my patience.”
Dolores moved very slowly and he waited patiently. With each step she took, the outline of his body became clearer. He distanced himself from the con and the business. He gave up unscrupulous dealings and became indescribably tender. His expression was no longer as stiff as his words. There was in him an additional trace of tenderness. Dolores had never seen this side of him, but she knew he was still who he was and would never change.
She wrung her hands, pulled herself together and begged him, “Please don’t meddle in my life anymore.”
Matthew raised his tired eyes and looked at the woman, “How will you beg me?” and sneered, “You must be sincere if you want to ask for something. So how will you show your sincerity, by offering yourself?”.

What did he mean, did he consider her a loose woman? Yes, she lost her virginity at eighteen, but that didn’t mean she was a woman who slept around. Dolores’s face turned blue with anger and her shoulders began to shake vigorously, the tone of her voice changing, “Are you a scoundrel?”
She was so angry that her cheeks tightened and her veins throbbed. A few out-of-place strands of hair around her neck gave her an extremely feminine look. Matthew swallowed saliva and felt he must be mad. He was aroused to see her getting angry.
He reached out to grab Dolores’ waist and pull her into his embrace. When she realized what was happening, her hands began to pound his chest and struggled, “Let go of me!”.
Matthew took a deep breath and not only didn’t loosen his grip but increased his hold on her waist. He grabbed her hands and said softly, “Behave yourself.”
Dolores glared at him-why was he meddling in her life? Was it so hard for her to have a quiet life with her children?
“I’m exhausted.” Matthew rested his chin on her shoulder and his nose inhaled her fragrance. He buried his face in her neck and said in a deep voice, “Find a place for me to rest.” He was really tired.
Dolores noticed that his eye bags were dark and his body was limp. “You, are you feeling bad?”
He acknowledged. Dolores was stunned but couldn’t bear not to take care of him.
“I’ll find you a hotel, okay?” Dolores asked.
“Okay.”
Dolores put him in the car and buckled him in. She closed the door and then got in the driver’s seat and drove the car. She was familiar with that place and easily found a hotel. About five minutes later, Dolores found a five-star hotel and stopped the car. She tossed the car key to the hotel staff to help Matthew out of the car.
“I’m just going to drive you to the hotel. You’ll have to pay for your own room.” Dolores said plainly.
He was very rich while she had to earn every penny. She couldn’t spend unnecessarily. She needed to save money for her two children. All the daily expenses and education required money. They were growing up and there were many expenses. She needed to be the strong back-up for the children. She would not allow her children to suffer for lack of money.
Matthew was tall and she was struggling to support him. She would not put all the weight of her body on her, but she did not expect this woman to draw a clear line between them for everything. She was a famous designer now and she wasn’t penniless. It was just the price of a room night-how could she be so calculating?
His arm rested on her shoulder and he transferred his weight onto her. Dolores felt the weight on her shoulders had increased. She now struggled to take each step. In her heart, she kept muttering against this man. Why did he weigh as much as a pig when he didn’t look fat at all?
As they approached the front desk, Dolores asked, “Where’s your ID and wallet?”
Matthew leaned against her and barely opened his eyes and struggled to speak,
“My ID is in my pants pocket, but I don’t have any money.”
“…” Dolores gritted her teeth and wanted so badly to leave him there and walk away.
Why didn’t he have any money with him? Okay, she was indeed not in the habit of carrying cash. Normally he would have the driver and Abbott with him.
He should at least have some cards if he didn’t have cash. Dolores felt his pockets. Her fingers were slender, long and delicate. Every time she felt his body, he tensed a little. Every time she touched him it was electrifying and irresistible.noveldrama
What a laughable self-control! He became a joke in front of this woman. He was aroused by her every caress. Matthew closed his eyes.
Dolores felt a wallet in her pocket. She opened it and was stunned. Hadn’t he said he didn’t have any money? And what were all these bills? Dolores rolled her eyes but didn’t take the money. She pulled out a card and handed it to the front desk: “Presidential suite with the best service. You will have any service that requires payment.”
Anyway, it was full of money!
Matthew, “…”
Receptionist, “…”
Rich people were so straightforward?
The lady at the front desk was stunned for a while and raised her head to ask, “Is there a PIN?”.
Dolores poked him in the abdomen. His chest ached from his wound and now his abdomen ached as well. He felt like he was about to die, “No.”
“No PIN.”
The receptionist handed the card back along with the room card to Dolores, “Toplevel, room 888. Presidential suite includes specialized service. One hundred and eight thousand yuan total.
One hundred thousand for one night? Dolores felt a shudder, it was too expensive.
Luckily she wasn’t the one who paid the bill.
Dolores slipped the card into her wallet and put the wallet back in her pocket. They took the elevator to the upper level. Once they exited the elevator, Dolores supported him to find room 888.
She swiped the card to open the door.
The door unlocked with a “ding.” Dolores pushed the door open. Two large crystal chandeliers hung from the high red and gold ceiling. Crystal chandeliers scattered the lights giving the room a feeling of nobility and luxury.
There were windows with glass panels all around that gave a view of the beautiful capital city. The curtains were flannel and lace. In the center of the living room was a deep red European style sofa. In the spacious living room were luxurious chairs, cabinets and other furniture. It was designed to resemble Western palaces. Dolores thought the money could have been better spent elsewhere.
She supported Matthew and opened the bedroom door. There was a deep red headboard, a low stool at the foot of the bed, a white carpet, and silk bedding with gold trim.
Everything was high-end and luxurious to both the eyes and the senses.
Dolores pushed him down on the bed, she was exhausted.
Matthew plopped down on the bedding and rubbed his wounds making her frown.
“Rest well. I have ordered the best service for you. You will have a very comfortable night. I won’t disturb you anymore.”
After finishing the words, Dolores turned to leave…..
