Chapter 80
Chapter 80:
Dolores was not curious to see Abbott. After all, it was Matthew who had forced her to return to the country, so naturally she should get to know his residence.
She also wanted to have a chat with him.
“Come on.” Dolores headed toward Abbott’s car.noveldrama
Abbott didn’t hurry to follow her; he shot a glance at Terry, saying, “If I see you bothering her next time, I won’t let you go so nicely.”
Only then did he get into the car after giving the warning to the man who was bothering Dolores.
Dolores remained quiet and said nothing. She merely looked out the car window dismissively.
Abbott turned his head to steal a glance at her and then concentrated on driving. On the way to the villa, Dolores felt the scenery passing by the car windows become more and more familiar. Six years had passed, but it seemed that everything had not changed.
Dolores furrowed her eyebrows slightly.
Although she hadn’t lived in the village for too long, she could still clearly remember everything that had happened here.
The car soon stopped. Dolores let out a long sigh to calm herself before opening the door.
Abbott had no intention of entering the villa with her and indicated, “Mr. Nelson is waiting for you inside. You go in alone.”

Dolores shot him a look and asked, “Do you know why he wants to see me?”
“I’m not so sure since it’s my boss’s private business.”
Dolores laughed as she remembered that Abbott was Matthew’s subordinate, so how was she going to inform him beforehand if Matthew wanted to do something bad to her?
Her question now was too superfluous.
He walked to the door and took a deep breath before pushing it open.
On the right side of the spacious, simple, well-lit, spotless parlor stood a piano, which had been sent by Randolph back in the day. It was still placed in the same position and looked as if it had never been moved.
In that year, he left the country in a hurry after the accident without taking any of his belongings with him. He didn’t even have time to pack his clothes, let alone the piano.
Dolores entered the house.
The decor was the same as before her departure, and it looked as if it hadn’t changed.
“Do you remember this place?”
A man in a black shirt was standing on the second floor. The top button of his shirt was undone and his sleeves were rolled up to his arms, exposing his burly arms. With one hand in his pocket, he held a glass with the other and swirled the red liquor it contained. The liquor danced like a living thing in the glass along with his movements.
Dolores looked up with a slight smile, “Mr. Nelson.” Matthew’s expression froze a little, Mr. Nelson?
She had addressed him as ‘Mr. Nelson’ at the time, but after hearing her address him as ‘Matthew’, he no longer liked that form of address because it sounded unfamiliar and foreign.
He preferred her to call him Matthew.
“Do you recognize this place?” he walked down the stairs as he asked.
“It’s been a long time and I don’t remember it clearly.” Dolores refused to admit it and denied all her memories of Matthew, as well as her feelings for him.
“You called me here and you want to discuss some business with me, don’t you?” Dolores walked over to the couch and sat down with her legs gracefully crossed and one of her hands on the armrest of the couch. “I happen to have something to talk to you about, Mr. Nelson.”
Did she have something to talk to him about?
Matthew felt a little taken aback by this.
He set the glass of red wine in front of her, “For you.”
Dolores expressed her gratitude politely, “Thank you.”
Matthew raised his eyebrows. Judging by her tone and attitude, was she really going to treat him like a stranger?
He repressed his displeasure and sat down across from her.
“What do you want to talk to me about?”
Dolores clenched her hands tightly, “Six years ago you said you wanted a divorce. Back then we came to an agreement and should have divorced. However, because of my accident, we didn’t get divorce certificates in the end. I am very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. And I am coming to you to make arrangements to get the divorce certificates…”
“Is this what you wanted to talk to me about?” Matthew interrupted her.
He had told her last time, that he had called off the engagement with Maria. Now she was coming and telling him this?
Hadn’t she made that clear last time?
Matthew’s face darkened.
“Yes. Mr. Nelson, I have carefully considered your words. While you may accept it, I cannot. So, just as we had agreed in the past, I now want a divorce.”
Dolores noticed that her palms were covered in a layer of sweat after she finished the words.
Matthew grimaced.
He leaned back on the couch and watched her with a composed look.
Dolores felt uncomfortable and nervous under his gaze.
She finally calmed herself after a long moment, “If you’re free now, we can do the paperwork today…”
Seeming to think of something, Dolores laughed self-deprecatingly, “Oh, I forgot. Mr. Nelson doesn’t need to deal with that sort of thing in person. He just needs to give an order to Abbott Baron.”
Matthew frowned and asked, “Are you done?”
Dolores nodded and straightened her back, ready to listen to his intentions.
Matthew said nothing; instead, he opened a social news feed on his phone and then handed the phone to Dolores.
Dolores was puzzled and looked up curiously. When she saw the photo, she became very nervous and rushed to pick up the phone. The person in the photo was her son and it appeared to be taken in a private room of a restaurant. The object in Samuel’s hands was quite striking, and Matthew’s profile was also clearly photographed.
“What is this?”
“When I was having a negotiation with Mr. Powell of the SD Corporation, your son burst into the room with that object in his hands and said it was mine in front of everyone. The scene was photographed by someone with bad intentions and then posted on the Internet.” She reached out, unbuttoned her cleavage button and said casually, “The news has spread. Do you know how others comment about me?”
Dolores pondered why Samuel was causing Matthew trouble. But what surprised her most was that how he managed to get the Durex.
He was only a five-year-old boy.
“I’m sorry. I’ll discipline him…” Wait, something must have been wrong. Samuel couldn’t have gotten the Durex, what if the Durex was really Matthew’s?
“It’s not mine.” Matthew said in a somber voice after seeing through Dolores’ mind. If it wasn’t for his remaining reasons, he would have grabbed her by the neck and yelled, “I’m not in the habit of carrying condoms with me at all times!” he said.
Dolores scoffed, “My son is very young. I’m afraid he doesn’t even know what it is. Besides, why didn’t he give it to others, but to you?
Dolores inwardly trusted her son.
Although he could perform some petty tricks, there was no way he would be able to devise such a trick to frame Matthew.
Ah.
Very well.
Matthew stood up and unbuttoned his shirt buttons one by one as he looked at Dolores condescendingly.
Dolores moved uncontrollably backwards and stared at him, “What are you doing?”.
Matthew chuckled: “Of course I have to prove to you that I’m not in the habit of wearing condoms.”
“…”
“I’ll ask you about this when I get back. Let’s leave it here for today.” After finishing the words, she got up to leave.
Matthew grabbed her wrist, “It’s not up to you.”
Dolores felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest as she was extremely nervous at that moment. She didn’t even dare to turn her head to look at him, “I will look into it. If I have hurt you, I will apologize to you later, Mr. Nelson.”
“I’d rather try it for myself.” Suddenly, he exerted force on her hand and Dolores was forced to sit back down on the couch. The next moment, Matthew leaned forward…..
